Owner and Lead Coordinator

Hi! I’m Simona, the founder & owner of Something Blue Weddings and Events.

I am a fiancé (so YES! I am currently planning my own wedding, you`ll find all the tips in our Instagram stories) and a loyal friend. I love Muay Thai and Kickboxing, soccer, snowboarding, travelling, cooking & decorating!

I graduated from the Business Administration program with a Marketing and Accounting background.

For over 15 years I have been working in multiple roles within the hospitality and events industry as I wanted to understand the components and the full picture of any event.

I started my career at the Hilton Suites and moved on to work as an Event and Community Relations Coordinator for a major restaurant chain in Canada. I’ve also worked with a Kosher Catering company and multiple event venues. 

After being in these roles for years, I realized it was time to take this into my own hands and start my own wedding planning business as the main focus of my career. I  was certified by WPIC in 2014 as a certified wedding coordinator and have been exploring my passion for weddings and event planning ever since.

I have an extreme attention for detail and have made perfectionism cool (Yes, you guessed right, I’m a Virgo…). I tend to jump into situations with both feet and take a laid-back approach as a strategy to remain clear-headed in stressful scenarios.

Using your creativity, inspiration and vision, I will create an environment that guests are excited to be in and you can sit back, relax and enjoy the day with your loved ones.

My passion is human connection. I live for meaningful connections and experiences and what better way to promote that than through assisting others in making their event dreams come true? Whether you are looking for event consultation, day-of services, promotional social media management, or full event coordination, I have the skills, knowledge, and dedication to make it happen.

Lee Heller

Lee comes from a long background in customer service, management, music and hairstyling. With a combination like that she’s acquired many skills that make her an asset to the team and a key player on your wedding day. With a passion for perfection and an eye for detail, Lee loves bringing a vision together. She understands that couples only have one day to get it right and she’s here to execute.

Vanessa Serodio

Vanessa is an early-years educator turned event planner. With many years of experience working with children and families and planning activities and themed projects for children this is where her love of planning came to be. Vanessa took the WPIC course in 2018 and is now a corporate planner and assisting with weddings because she loves the social aspects of event planning.

Mayra Mallett

Mayra is an enthusiastic event planner with five years of experience. She leads the planning for her hometown’s widely known fall fair that attracts many people from all over Ontario. Her passion is wedding planning and received her WPICC in 2021. Mayra devotes herself to the creative process and strives to make wedding planning a joyous and beautiful experience.

Vanessa Legair

Vanessa is a passionate wedding planner with more than 19 years of experience in weddings and special events. Over the years, she has been a sounding board, planning ally and cheerleader who thrives on the joy of each couple’s wedding vision, and works collaboratively to ensure all plans are highly organized and carried out in a timely schedule. Vanessa’s commitment to excellence in customer service, professionalism and anticipating various needs on the day has earned her many big smiles and hugs from her couples, families, and guests!

2019 Annual wedding open house at the
"Estates of Sunnybrook"

Even the sub -30° weather couldn’t keep engaged couples away from this year’s Estates of Sunnybrook wedding open house. Hundreds braved the weather and were rewarded for their efforts, gaining a sneak peek preview of 2019 Instagram-worthy wedding inspiration courtesy some of the finest vendors in the city! Couples were also treated to a constant flow of mouth-watering passed canapes and delicious food stations prepared by the impeccable culinary team at the venue.
